If we can run a filter in our contact library of date researched, then we can filter out by date to mass reassign up to 1000 contacts to another list if a defaulted list wasn't selected instead of doing so page by page up until we see the date we no longer need.

Thanks Samantha Rios for the request. Currently, My Contacts can be filtered by date using a set of selections (ie. Today, Last 7 Days, etc..). This can be combined with the List filter, and you can use these in tandem to select recent contacts assigned to a list. Then you can use "Add Filtered to List" to reassign contacts to a new list.

We are currently exploring more customization in this date filter as well, but the above could assist in this re-listing process.
